The Eagle Valley $50,000 Tagged Fishing Event!
One tagged fish could be worth $50,000





The 2010 Derbys should be held the first weekend of May and Labor Day weekend.


Twenty trout are tagged for the event in each lake, but one carries the tag a lucky angler needs to claim the $50,000 prize money. Participants could find the winning fish in either Eagle Valley or Echo Canyon reservoirs, which are located in Spring Valley and Echo Canyon state parks. Each park is a user-pay facility and offers full camping amenities.



Spring Valley State Park is located about 18 miles east of Pioche on state Route 322 and has an elevation of nearly 5,900 feet.
Facilities include a launch ramp, restroom, and temporary docking slips.
The Horsethief Gulch Campground has 36 improved sites, each outfitted with a table, grill and shade cover.
There are also three restrooms, and one restroom has showers.
A day-use picnic area is also available at the lake as well as a group area.



Echo Canyon State Park is just minutes from Spring Valley State Park and is accessed via state Routes 322 and 323.
Located about 12 miles east of Pioche, the park has an elevation of 5,200 feet.
It offers visitors 33 improved campsites with water.
There are also flush toilets and an RV dump station.
Picnic sites overlook the lake and a boat launch is also available.







Day-use fees at each park are $4 per vehicle, camping fees are $14 per vehicle, and day-use fees for boaters are $6. If you plan on camping and boating, the fee is $16 at Spring Valley and $12 at Echo Canyon. All fees are per day.


Lodging is also available at the beautiful Eagle Valley Resort. They have a recently renovated RV Park, Great Cabins, a convenient general store, bait, tackle, licenses, and a fully stocked bar complete with Poker machines.
