Brought to you by Angler 1 Sportfishing Adventures in fabulous Las Vegas!
No fishing in Las Vegas?
Ha!
We're less than 20 minutes from the largest man made lake in America!
Nevada and Lake Mead offer some absolutely FANTASTIC fishing for
Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass, Striped Bass, Catfish, Bluegill, and Rainbow Trout.
Or, you can travel back in time aboard a classic old-tyme steamboat, the Desert Princess, as well as enjoying water sports up the kazoo!

The Colorado River winds it's way through the Grand Canyon and across the desert, giving us absolutely breathtaking scenery that is frequently used as a backdrop for movies and commercials.

"Utah!" is just a few hours away by truck or car. Utah's world famous Trout fisheries, majestic rock and sand sculptures, plus breathtaking views, just beg for everyone to visit, fish, and camp year round.
Lake Trout that reach 40+ pounds are living in the pristine waters of the "Promised Land". Though the average is slightly smaller, Brown, Tiger, and Rainbow Trout from 18" to 25" are the norm. That's three to five pounds!! The ice fishing opportunities also abound, along with some of the west's greatest ski resorts in the vicinity.

The Pacific Ocean's abundant waters, from the San Diego coast
to Mexico's Coronado Islands, provide us with some very fine
Yellowtail and Tuna fishing most of the year!
And we take trips all the time!!

Bahia de Los Angeles, the West Bank, and Cabo San Lucas in Baja have some of the finest fishing in the world! Marlin,Yellowtail, Roosterfish,Dorado,Wahoo,Giant Grouper, and Giant Squid are available year round! Our week long fishing trips will refresh and revive you!

Taking fishing and camping trips by canoe is quickly becoming very popular in the West.
Taking these trips helps us get down to the basics of river fishing.
We really enjoy the sport and relaxation that comes with canoeing on various trips year round!
Fly Fishing is elevated to a new high when inacessible stretches of water are discovered while in a canoe.
So we have been adding new canoe fishing trips in conjunction with these Yahoo Groups;
Nevada Anglers
Sin City Paddlers
and
The Las Vegas Canoe Club

The Average License for a Southern Nevada Fisherman who might use two poles and will fish for Trout sometime during the year will be $52.00

I can't find the Lake Taho Special Use Stamp price but I am pretty sure it's $3.00 too.

It's funny how in a state with such limited fishing opportunities, a resident license is now as much as a non-resident license in other states.

Congratulations to Manabu Kurita for being named the new co-record holder of the Worlds largest Largemouth Bass ever caught!

Announced today the IGFA recognized the July 2nd catch as
A New World Record!
The record was caught by angler Manabu Kurita from Aichi, Japan. He enticed the female bass with a live bluegill cast next to the bridge piling where he saw the fish swimming. He had the bass in the boat in three minutes.
He caught the bohemoth Largemouth at Lake Biwa in July but the IGFA recognized the catch as a record in January.
As we all remember George Perry caught the 22lb 4oz co-record from Georgia's Lake Montgomery in 1932.
The new record fish measured 27.2 inches with a 26.7-inch girth.
Congratulations Again Manabu Kurita on a great catch!

So, I am two months behind everyone else in witnessing an amazing girl and her amazing journey to bring to light the Blue Planet Run Foundation that brings safe drinking water to over 200,000 people so far.

Katie Spots has been rowing across the Atlantic Ocean and is now on her last week of her journey to South America.

Starting from Dakar on January 3rd of this year she has rowed already for two months.

You can see where she is now at Event Viewer

Such an amazing trip, cause, and person.

Marina Del Rey Anglers announced the annual MDR Halibut Derby has been put on a one year hiatus for 2010. "This is one of the most difficult decisions our board has ever made," said MDRA President Ken Raymond. "After 35 years of successful MDR Halibut Derbies and months of painful discussion and soul searching we have decided to take this action."

The Marina Del Rey Halibut Derby has
been held every year since 1974.
The Derby is the oldest and largest fishing tournament on the West Coast. The Halibut Derby is the last 100% non-profit tournament on the West Coast. The event has attracted almost a thousand participants and over 300 boats every year.

"Plugs and Paddles IV"

The Nevada Anglers, Las Vegas Canoe Club, and Sin City Paddlers joint outing to Pahranagat for the annual Plugs and Paddles Camping, Canoeing, and Fishing trip will be held in April again this year.

Looks like gas prices are trying to halt our San Diego fishing trips again this year, the Charter Boat prices still haven't come down, but we won't let that stop us.

We'll be coordinating extra smaller trips this spring to catch some of the big ones!

This year will bring more trips and more fish to all of us, I am sure.
