The miracle of WD-40
WD-40 works wonders on ALL my baits and reels I use on my salt fishing charters.
I spray some on all lures that my customers use before and after use and all my baits still look new (except for the tooth marks).
WD-40 is also the magic go to for fishing at Lake Mead for stripers too when the going is tough. A little squirt on an anchovy at night is a miracle. I have seen 40 to 50 caught with it, while plain anchovy goes untouched. Try spraying your bait in a ziplock bag a half hour or so prior to use! Sometimes, I even spray the contents of an opened bag before re-freezing for the next trip, and throw in some fresh chopped garlic. THAT makes the Cats go WILD!
I haven't had any problems with the product marring or ruining any finishes on my baits. And as a line freshener, it helps reduce birdsnests and increases casting distance. Line breakage does not even seem to be a factor on our trips anymore. It seems to help reduce line-cutoff from tangled lines around the boat too!
